We’ve been having an amazing time celebrating Christmas and enjoying lots of festive activities. The children have loved:
✨ Christmas Crafts – creating decorations, cards and sparkly masterpieces to brighten our classroom. 📚 Story Time – snuggling up in the Hummingbird igloo under twinkling lights to share magical Christmas stories. 🦌 Festive Play – mixing up reindeer soup outdoors to keep Rudolph and friends energised for Christmas Eve! 🎶 Songs & Rhymes – singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and other festive favourites to practise rhythm and language. ⛄ Imaginative Fun – building pretend snowmen, riding Santa’s sleigh and chatting about Christmas traditions.
The excitement is growing every day, and it’s wonderful to see their creativity, teamwork and festive spirit shining through! 🌟
🔥 Last week, we were thrilled to welcome Xplore Science to Owl Class! Owls enjoyed an exciting hands-on session all about using flames safely in the classroom – a fantastic way to prepare for secondary school.
They learned how to light matches safely, used a Bunsen burner and even created their own fire extinguisher!
What an amazing experience that sparked curiosity and confidence.
✨ Robin and Skylark Classes filled Holy Immanuel Church to bursting with friends and family as they performed our much-loved Nativity.
Every child spoke with confidence and sang beautifully, their faces glowing with joy and excitement.
The audience was delighted – not just by the wonderful performance, but by the reminder of the true meaning of Christmas: celebrating the birth of Jesus and the hope and love He brings.
Memories were made that we will treasure forever. Wishing all our families a very Happy Christmas! 🎄✨
What a joy to see our children take the stage and share their learning with such confidence and creativity.
This term, Owl Class wowed us with deep knowledge of the Alps, how they are formed and the countries they run through, clear explanations of the ideal conditions for evaporation that impressed every adult in the room, and stunning 3D installation art inspired by Cai Guo-Qiang’s explosive technique. It’s true that every day is a school day, especially for the grown-ups watching in awe.
These assemblies are a special time to come together, celebrate progress and share in the incredible growth of our children.
A huge well done to Owl Class and thank you to all the families who joined us, your support makes these moments even more meaningful.

Last week, our children gathered for a truly meaningful Christingle service led by Reverend Sue. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to pause and reflect on God’s love and the hope that Christmas brings.
A Christingle is a beautiful symbol of Christ as the Light of the World: 🕯 The candle represents Jesus, the light in the darkness 🍊 The orange represents the world 🍬 The sweets remind us of God’s gifts and creation 🎀 The red ribbon speaks of God’s love and sacrifice
This service is always a highlight for our school and marks the start of the festive season in such a special way. Thank you to Reverend Sue for leading this time of reflection for our children. 🌟

We had the absolute privilege of welcoming Roger and Anne, authors of the fascinating new book “There is Always a Book on the Shelf” – a beautiful history of Lower Heath School.
They brought our story to life with incredible photographs through the ages. Did you know our school was built in 1799 by Sir Richard Hill of Hawkstone to educate his workers’ children? During the war years, numbers soared as we welcomed evacuees from Liverpool.
Roger even shared a photo from his own school days and told us he’s still in touch with a friend he met here – now living on the Isle of Wight! Hearing these stories was truly magical.
We were delighted to receive two copies of the book for our library, ensuring our history lives on for future generations. Roger said he couldn’t believe no one had written a book about Lower Heath before – and we’re so glad he did!
The afternoon ended with a book signing where local people gathered to reminisce and share memories – a wonderful celebration of heritage and community spirit.
📖 Want to own a piece of history? You can buy “There is Always a Book on the Shelf” now on Amazon!
Thank you, Roger and Anne, for an unforgettable event. 💛

Inspired by a family member and Ellie Goldstein’s incredible appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, some of our amazing children wanted to raise awareness of Down’s syndrome and they did it in the most joyful way possible!
They created a child‑led “Dancing for Down’s Syndrome” club, choosing the music, choreographing the dances and organising everything themselves, and it’s now the best‑supported club in school.
A huge shout‑out to Hattie, Issy and Eliza who are true inspirations; they also delivered a whole‑school worship to educate everyone about Down’s syndrome.
Our hearts are melting with pride! This is what community, inclusion and creativity look like. Well done, girls - you’ve made a real difference. 💃❤️🌟
